High and Low Rope Challenge Courses
High and Low Rope Challenge Course
High and low rope challenge courses are a challenging outdoor personal development and team building activity which usually consists of high and/or low elements. Low elements take place on the ground or only a few feet above the ground. High elements are usually constructed in trees or made of utility poles and require a belay for safety.
You Can Do It!
High rope elements can be constructed in trees with utility poles and are usually elevated 7′ to 50′ high in the air.
Low rope challenge courses involve rope maze challenges and series of cable courses that are very low to the ground and are usually geared towards youth team-building skills.
High and low rope challenge courses can be seen as the ultimate group or team challenge. Ropes courses are a combination of both vertical challenges and horizontal challenges, constructed from wood, cable and ropes installed above the ground and strung between trees, wood poles or steel framework.
Physical benefits Of High & Low Rope Courses:
- Upper and lower body strength. The upper body may benefit the most from the physical challenge of the high rope courses because the muscles in the hands, forearms and upper arms are used the most, while balancing strengthens the lower legs.
- Improves confidence, concentration and problem solving skills and it is not a competitive sport.
- You can see improved performance in other activities due to the added strength, flexibility, and coordination that you will build by participating in both high & low rope courses.
